Exam hosting for real classrooms

Run the whole exam. Grading comes with it.

Written papers collected by phone. Quizzes that score themselves — including a live room you host from the front. Typed essays. Printed bubble sheets. One platform for however your class actually sits an exam.

Free hosting, always. 25 grading credits each month — no card needed.

Four ways to run an assessment

Whatever the room allows

An exam hall with no wifi and a quiz on a projector are not the same problem. Each format is its own product, not a setting buried in a dropdown.

Hand out paper. Collect it with a phone.

Run a timed written exam and let students photograph their answer scripts from any phone — no app, no accounts. Pages arrive stitched into one PDF, ready to read.

Open Written
  • Timed exam with QR or link access
  • Camera capture, any phone
  • Mistakes marked on the page itself
  • Grade a whole class in one run
  • Proctoring log for tab switches

How it works

Set up in minutes, not a training session

  1. 1

    Pick the format

Written, quiz, essay or OMR — whichever suits the room you actually teach in.

  2. 2

    Share the way in

A link, a QR code, a join code, or a printed sheet. Students need no account.

  3. 3

    Run it live

Start, pause, extend or end. Watch submissions land and see who left the window.

  4. 4

    Grade and publish

Objective formats score themselves. Written work comes back marked on the page — you adjust and publish.

Works with your LMS

Keep the gradebook you already have

Nobody is migrating a department off its LMS to try a grader. Google Classroom works today — as a native add-on inside Classroom itself, or as a connector into Zachai — and Moodle is being prepared for publication, with Canvas following next. Every integration keeps approved grades in the school's existing gradebook.

Google Classroom

Available now

Add-on inside Classroom, or sign in with Google

Attach Zachai to an assignment as a native Classroom add-on — students submit and you review without leaving classroom.google.com. Prefer to work from Zachai instead? Connect an account and pull assignments in the same way. Either way, the grade only posts to the Classroom gradebook once you approve it.

Moodle

Coming soon

Plugin publishing in progress

The Moodle plugin is built and being prepared for Marketplace review. Once published, it will send submissions to Zachai and return only the grades you approve.

Canvas

Coming soon

Planned after Moodle

Canvas support is next on the LMS roadmap. It will use the same teacher-reviewed workflow, but the Canvas-side integration has not been released yet.

Two connected LMS sites in the Zachai dashboard: a Google Classroom account with 38 assignments imported, and a Physics department Moodle site with 112 runs received
Your connections, as the dashboard shows them — an API key you can revoke at any time, and the last time each site called in.

Grading, included

You have the final say

Quizzes and bubble sheets score themselves the moment they arrive. Handwritten scripts and typed essays get an AI draft against your rubric — marked on the page itself, next to the student's work, never a verdict.

  • Mistakes and strengths marked on the script, not just summarised
  • Every mark and grade is editable before anyone sees it
  • Grades against your own rubric and materials
  • Straight into the gradebook, ledger and CSV export
The rubric breakdown returned by the grader: three criteria with scores, comments and a total of 7 out of 10Every row editable
The breakdown that comes back with a written script — criterion by criterion, against your rubric, and yours to change before publishing.
An OMR bubble sheet scored automatically: 12 of 15 correct, one blank, wrong answers showing the key beneathScored on arrival · 0 credits
Bubble sheets need no grading run at all — photograph the stack and every paper is scored, with each wrong answer shown against the key.

Reads handwriting

Math, chemistry, and mixed English/Bengali scripts.

Marks the page

Each mistake pinned where it happens, with a note the student can act on. Drag any mark to correct it.

Grades a whole class at once

One question paper, one rubric — every script in the batch graded and queued for you to review, then exported as one CSV.

Spots copied work

Compares a class against itself and shows the shared passage — phrasing everyone was taught is ignored.

Knows your material

Upload notes and textbooks; grading follows what you taught.

Tracks the cohort

A ledger that follows students across semesters.

Built for institutions

Shared credit pool, roster, sections and roles.

Your students’ work stays yours

Encrypted in transit and at rest. We never train public models on your submissions, and you can delete anything at any time.

No student accounts needed

A link, a QR code or a join code is enough. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, nothing to reset.

Free hosting, honestly free

Exams, live rooms, auto-grading and exports carry no limits. Credits only apply to AI grading of written work.

For institutions

One department buys credits once

Set the institution up and every teacher in it draws from the same pool — no one is expensing credits on their own card, and you can see where they went.

Shared credit pool

Buy once at department level; every teacher spends from it.

Roster, sections, roles

Students and staff organised the way the institution already is.

Org-wide material

One resource library, so everyone grades against the same syllabus.

Usage by teacher

See which credits went where, per teacher and per section.
